Cascading life failure

What is a cascading life failure?

A cascading life failure occurs when something goes wrong in one’s life, putting them into an obsessively bad mood that hinders their performance in other aspects of their life. This causes other things to go wrong, thus worsening the subject’s mood, thus causing other things to go wrong, and so forth. Susceptibility to cascading life failure can be a very significant personal flaw.

    Phil,

Um, you’re not implying anything about yourself with this post, are you? Finals do suck and are stressful, but not enough to get really depressed about.

I did like the Calculus joke in your video blog #2. Took me back to another one from my college days that I can’t really replicate with just the alphanumeric characters on my keyboard though.

Haha, nothing about finals. It’s just a phenomenon I’ve noticed in my life before. When I get fired from a job I feel bad and it impacts my personal relationships, when my personal relationships break down I’m distracted from studying, etc. Or maybe it starts in some other aspect of my life.

Honestly, I don’t worry too much about exams anyway. They’re important and I try to do well at them, and I feel bad if I do poorly. But I don’t worry much.
